Give Where You Live–Today is Colorado Gives Day!

Today is Colorado Gives Day, where you can make a tax-deductible donation to support non-profit organizations in your community.  Several organizations we know and love are asking for your support, including:

Local Food Shift Group, which sponsors the 8-month long Permaculture through the Seasons! design course, organized a Front Range Farm Relief Fund following the September floods, holds several events throughout the year to promote local food and farming systems.

The GrowHaus, which launched Mercado Al Lado this year, and is raising funds to purchase their greenhouse.

Community Cycles, which rebuilds 2,500 donated bikes every year, giving old bikes a new life in Boulder; provides 250 bikes to Earn-A-Bike participants, who learn bike mechanics in the process; gives kids’ bikes away at the Annual Kids’ Holiday Bike Giveaway; and promotes cycling education and advocacy in Boulder.

Growing Gardens, which is raising funds this year for the Childrens’ Peace Garden, which educates children on growing food, and the importance of biodiversity and pollinators.

These are just a few of the local organizations who could use your help… there are many more!  Remember, any 100% of any donations made today, December 10th, go to the organization of your choice.  www.coloradogives.org
